And he used the word "embrace".
He called out, by name, those Republicans that lost and said it was because they did not embrace him.
There is little doubt but that the former Republican Party is now the Trump Party. There is no room for disagreement.
Unfortunately, we have learned from this election that he is very popular with these former Republicans. They voted in large numbers for him, not necessarily any of the Republican candidates. The rallies were always about him, not about the candidates he was supporting. The signs in the crowd were over-whelmingly Trump signs.
If anyone was looking for the Republican Party to change, they did. They became more loyal and Trumpian than ever.

(12,344 posts)There are Republicans who are vulnerable in 2020, in places where Dems made gains or nearly won. They now realize that Trump coattails won't save them. And if they spend the next two years blocking everything that comes out of the House what acheivements will they have to bring home?

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
