(7,447 posts)but clearly there was no wave.
We simply are not able to get our folks out. Whatever the reason, our folks just won't do it. Blame candidates, blame the DNC/DSCC, blame apathy, blame reliance on traditionally unreliable folks, blame Trump really is more popular then the polls say and we want to believe, I don't know.
But it once again goes back to their folks come out hell or high water and it's a real struggle to get our folks out unless someone like Obama is on the ticket.

(27,875 posts)it's discouraging.
Even with Obama on the ticket, the Dems couldn't get big majorities in 2012.
It also doesn't help that the blue vote is piling up in cities, and the red vote is getting vastly over-represented. Millions more people vote Democratic than Republican and we have to live under this minority bullshit.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
