I find it hilarious that Republicans act surprised when certain groups of people vote Democratic

Examples:

"Black people vote over 90% for the Democrats. What have Democrats done for black people? It doesn't make sense!"

"Why do Jews vote for the Democrats? They don't support Israel!"

"Why do women support Democrats? Bill Clinton was abusive to women!"

And on and on.

These Republicans really don't get it, do they?

As to the second one, I've always kinda wondered about that myself. zzaapp Aug 2012 #1

But really, it comes down to the American Jewish community's historical value on education, their ability to empathize with victims of injustice, like black Americans or the poor (considering what the Jewish community has been through, this is understandable), and in recent years, the secular tendencies of many American Jews are at odds with the Christian Right which dominates the GOP.

Also, racism, xenophobia, and anti-Semitism have often gone hand in hand in America. Look at the Ku Klux Klan. It makes sense that Jews would find common cause with others who were targeted by white supremacists.

First, there's no tangible difference between the parties on Israel; they both follow the same policy of subsidizing Israel's military, and bending the arms of other nations in the region to do what's favorable to Israel. Republican, Democrat, same thing, it's just national policy.

However, American Jews... their lives and thoughts don't revolve around Israel. After all, they're American, not Israelis, and like most Americans, their first concern is what happens in America. Further, there's this whole thing, where assuming all people of a given background think the same way - or even think at all - about a single subject?

So when someone trots up and says to America's Jews "I'm all about Israel, vote for me, because you're Jewish, and Jews love Israel!" then what message is that sending?

I for one can not understand why people on Social Security are voting for Republicans.
Why military personell heavily favors/ed Republicans when all they do is try to cut benefits and bring them harm.
Why Catholics vote Republicans when they espouse uncharitable and unchristian behavior.

They watch Fox News. They honestly believe that they are part of a vast majority of American conservatives, and that liberals are rare freaks of nature.

Poor people will vote for the Millionaire's Party because the millionaire on the radio tells them.

"Christians" vote republican because they have been deceived to believe that the republican will outlaw a woman's right to privacy with her Dr.......and give up the single greatest wedge issue since "the colored people". Either that or their preacher tells them god wants them to vote republican.

Low class voters will vote for the Millionaire's Party because just as soon as they pay off the trailer and get their money from the lawsuit after they fake a slip/fall in Walmart, they'll be rich just like the Romney's and wont want to be paying for all those other poor people.

Middle class voters that vote for the Upper Class Party who think that just because they pay homeowners dues every month that they are in fact the wealthy Upper class when they are mortgaged to the hilt.

Ignorant voters who.... fuck em, I'm sick of the ignorant voters, they get what they deserve.

They're pretending surprise. It's part of their whole "creating reality" thing. Another part is their false outrage over various strawmen.

It's what they do. If reality doesn't fit what they want, they create a whole narrative intended to portray a false reality.

Jeezuz. Talk about a broad brush
