(10,120 posts)I was lucky enough to see him speak in an arena and it was electric, I can't imagine seeing him up close like that. Yes, there is a bit of a personality cult for me with him, but mostly because he represents the best in America instead of the worst.
I seriously think I would cry if I saw Michelle in person. I'm sure they both get that a lot.
Peace

(5,816 posts)in 2008. It was so much fun and totally surreal. The crowd was raucous and full of good energy. Everyone was excited and shouting good wishes to her. She spoke from her heart, telling about her family (her parents) and why we should vote for her husband. We didnt want it to end. But it did have to come to an end and we left that place with wings on our feet!

(14,509 posts)That's why he never makes public stops like this. No possible exposure to non-brainwashed cult members allowed, just like typical highly restricted Republican town hall meetings.
His minders know better and don't want any bad optics.......

(9,426 posts)What a terrific President we had. All class, intelligence, compassion, caring. How did we go from all that QUALITY to mafia Don the Con? He was respected worldwide, now we are a joke. How many countries said "After President Obama's term is over, can WE have him?" Not even Russia would be crazy enough to want Orange Ass Don the Destroyer of all things decent.

(13,877 posts)That is equal to the Law Scholar/former Senator vs. the Con Man who knows best how to bankrupt and scam. That Tea Party and millions of other closet haters, brought our great nation down to this
Good news is that we'll recover.

(13,579 posts)Taxpayer money.
Why, anyway, do taxpayers pay for her vacation?
There wasn't any stated official purpose to her extravagant trip, was there?
Or was she supposedly visiting the sh*thole countries?

(15,310 posts)What if POTUS (current) stopped by while you were eating tacos, grabbed your food and stuffed it in his mouth? Afterall, Trump's a taco afficiando.

(63,221 posts)Just his presence and the way he carries himself. Not all puffed up and arrogant like DT. People really adore him. Trump will never be anything more than crap on his shoes.

I'd give anything to have him back for another 8 years.

He's our true President and leader. Miss him more each day. It's fantastic to see him and Michelle out among the masses again - we need more of their presence.

(6,560 posts)without using tax payer funding. The grifter in office now is out there taking advantage of the tax payer every. single. day. for himself and his family. Thank you, President Obama, for being a person of high moral standards. We miss you!

(9,866 posts)But I don't like the idea that some remained seated when he shook their hands. Should have stood if he was standing .....Just an act of basic respect.

(9,866 posts).....half-stand gesture---the one where you can't really rise, but you lift yourself off the seat as a "sign" of standing. Just a basic instinct of deference in that kind of situation.
Made me picture a similar scene with Trump. I'd fold my arms over my chest and tuck my hands under my armpits!
These mammalian body language moments do send signals.
