(21,800 posts)A timely slogan if there ever was one.
Many immigrants from Latin America are very familiar with how suddenly, or insiduously, democracy can be overturned. They know.

(33,007 posts)It can mean either "asshole" or "idiot" when used in the idiom.

(25 posts)For those that don't speak Spanish, the first line asks how are you going to vote. the choices are Democrat or Pendejo. Pendejo is spanish for a pubic hair. Where I come from it is also slang to refer to someone who is not very brave. If you are a pendejo, you are a coward. Not nice.

(298,318 posts)Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
