Alabamas proposed constitutional amendment, Statewide Amendment 2, will ask voters to affirm that the constitution of this state does not protect the right to abortion or require the funding of abortion. It would also recognize and support the sanctity of unborn life and the rights of unborn children.

Hill said he wants the Supreme Court to rule on a lawsuit about a 2016 pro-life law that bans abortions performed because of the unborn childs race, gender or disability, such as Down syndrome. It also requires medical facilities to bury or cremate fetal remains.
According to Indiana Public Media, Hill said the fetal characteristic abortion ban guards against discrimination. He also argued the state has the right to require fetal remains to be treated with dignity.

It's on the increase, because they're looking for that 'magic bullet' case that will get to the new RW SC to further erode Roe v Wade.
Dems have kind of missed the bus on this. It needs to be fought at the state/local level. Perhaps as people wake up, we can educate them. The coming Blue Wave won't mean much unless it also washes down to the state/local level.
