3. Elections don't have consequences. That's the whole problem

More people voted for Hillary. More people generally vote democratic. But the cards are stacked against most people. Most senators voting today come from safe states where there is little fear of the consequences if their decisions while in the Senate.

We have exactly the government you get when elections don't have consequences. If your vote doesn't matter, then they don't fear you. Do these GOPers fear you the average voter? Nope, not at all.
