It is now apparent (as it has always been most of us) that "Weapons of Mass Destruction" were simply too useful to the selling of the Iraq war not to be invented. In the Rovian logic of the day, they were created by the simple announcement and subsequent assumption that they existed. The color-coded "Threat Assessment Level" soon followed and some people concluded that "bat shit crazy" was kinda cool. WMD Syndrome was born.
It was relatively simple thereafter for craven thugs to sell anything to a large swathe of the American public.
Build a wall between the US and Mexico? No problem---just say it.
Mexico will pay for the wall? Simply announce it.
Repeal Obamacare "on day one"? Piece of cake---shout it out to the mob.
"Promises Made - Promises Kept!" (no, REALLY!) Make lots of signs.
It would be tragic enough if the minority afflicted with "WMDS" was some obscure fringe that we could pity. The real tragedy is that they now control all three branches of our government.

(4,168 posts)My first guess and I know better but after the last 10 days I immediately thought WMD stood for What Men Do. My apologies to all the good men defending victims and the rule of law.
Now on to the Weapons of Mass Destruction, oh wait, everything the R's do is a WMD.
