(13,421 posts)I think the Republicans will jam his confirmation through.
Jamming him through, however, will cost that party the votes of a lot of women. Margins in several of these upcoming elections are slim right now, and eroding them in any way can tip the balance in favor of Dems. If Dems win control, it could happen that he's facing impeachment proceedings.

(6,344 posts)I would add that pushing this through to a confirmation would not only cost women votes, but men as well.

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
