(3,836 posts)he fought hard to keep them at bay...he snuffled and sniffed them back so we could imagine them even though we couldn't see them and we watched in disgust as he kept poking his lying tongue /in/ his cheek instead (unconscious/subliminal message?)

(93 posts)memory flashes.
A disembodied scream coming from somewhere....oh, that's me.
Me snapping to attention after the beating stopped, as he sat on the floor with his head in my lap crying.
My face bloodied, my pants wet because I lost my bladder during the beating.
Getting up from the chair very cool and collected telling him I need to clean myself up. It's OK, I just need to clean myself up.
Walking out the front door and hoping he doesn't follow.
My parents coming to the hospital to pick me up, walking right past me because he beat me so bad they didn't recognize me.

(21,597 posts)I am so sorry.
I was pushed through a car window by my now ex but then husband. The back of my arm was split open really deep above the elbow and I bled all the way up the driveway as I ran from him. He then took me to the hospital. I was alone with him and had no family in the entire state. It was horrific. I was so young and naive. I didnt know about domestic abuse. It was several years before I could leave him and he tried to kill me when I left.

(93 posts)This week has been rough. The last 2 years have been trying. But it all seems to be coming to a head. Our pain being our source of strength to push for better leaders and stop the acceptance of treating women as second class.

(14,031 posts)That was Kavanaugh's performance today. Disgusting.
Even more so, that Republicans are saying to millions of victims: "We just don't give a damn"

(2,207 posts)My frat boy x would do the same thing, cry like a baby and apologize and beg after I'd had enough and threaten to leave. Watching this whole thing was like walking down memory lane. It has made me gut sick. I've known too many Brett Kavanaugh's. This whole episode should have every Greek, frat boy, entitled white privileged male that ever engaged in that kind of behavior quaking in their boots. Instant Karma's going to get you...
