Yeah, Me Neither

Remember when Obama was under investigation for obstructing justice and conspiring with the Russians? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama was proven to have lied to the American people an average of seven times a day? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama insulted our allies and praised people like Putin and Kin Jung-Un? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama stood on the world stage and declared that he would take the word of Vladimir Putin over the word of his own country’s intelligence community? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama directed his “fixer” lawyer to pay off a porn star in order to buy her silence just before an election? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama visited foreign countries and was met with tens of thousands of protesters? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama separated parents from their children at the border, and then “lost” those kids so that they might never see their parents again? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama tweeted mis-spelled, incoherent covfefe on a daily basis? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama refused to produce his tax returns? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama increased the national debt in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy, while screwing the middleclass? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama had his name-branded merchandise manufactured in low-wage countries while promising to bring overseas jobs back to America? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama’s daily briefings had to be dumbed-down so that he could understand them? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when White House staff had to “placate the president”, “keep him calm”, “prevent him from going ballistic”? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Obama’s hand-picked “best people” were fired, resigned, and/or convicted of crimes? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when rumours were flying about Obama’s mental instability, and invoking the 25th amendment was discussed as a remedy for removing him from office? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when an ‘anonymous” op/ed was published in the New York Times decrying Obama’s unfitness for office, authored by someone who was in a position to know? Yeah, me neither.

Remember when we had a president who was a man to look up to – a truthful, patriotic man who strove to unite us as a country, a man who reminded us of our sameness rather than our differences, a man who encouraged us to dream, to hope, to be our better selves?

Obama left a giant pair of shoes to fill – and the election of Trump has been proof positive that the best the Republicans could come up with was the worst possible alternative – a “pResident” devoid of morals, intelligence, patriotism, and even a passing familiarity with the truth.

Remember when we were confident that our president actually WAS the smartest man in the room, and could be counted on to act accordingly? Remember when we KNEW without question that our president was on our side, and not openly on the side of our country's enemies? Remember when things like a free press, the right to protest, and observance of our nation's laws were considered sacrosanct, and not subject to the whims of an unhinged madman?

Yeah, I do. Those days seem faint – almost as though they never happened, given where we are now. But we must stay focused on what once was, and what could be again. Holding onto our principles is the only thing we have left - and those principles are all that stand between our beloved democracy and a descent into self-serving, politically-motivated insanity.

Remember the last time an American political party was more than willing to put a lying, racist, Russian-colluding madman in the White House? Yeah, me neither.

And THAT is all that needs to be said.

Post it on telephone poles and store windows. Put in dentist and doctor offices (right under the tv with Fox Disinformation showing). Stick it under windshield wipers. Paste it over NRA stickers.

Damned delusional hypocrites need their noses rubbed in it.

As one of their own said years ago "All we need in the White House is someone who can sign bills" That was Grover Nordquist, the great anti tax moron, who had them all sign pledges to cut taxes on their own. What a cesspool we have descended into in such a short time. The gop has NOBODY capable of even ACTING presidential. All the BRAINS are on the democratic side of the aisle. The family values party is just a sham.

if you are not one already!!

I like reading your posts. I can easily play this over in my head and imagine a candidate at a rally, riling up the crowd with this call and response (Yeah, me neither.).

Sure beats "Lock her up!" (Although "Lock him up!!!!" has a nice ring to it!)

Ironically, I was at my local library yesterday and they had Pete Souza's book of photographs in their "new" section. I immediately took it out and home and wasn't even five pages in before I just started feeling sad for what we had, and in many cases what we took for granted. I'm almost finished with it and as I have been since the night of the fatal election, am shaking my head even more over how we can go from such an inspiring leader and family to what we have now. Never in my seven decades on this earth would I have thought we would find ourselves in such a constitutional crisis. And yes, it IS a constitutional crisis.

the new Michael Moore movie which claims to be about DT, but spends the majority of the time trashing Democrats...including Obama.
