I bet he has tapes.
Trump claims it's all lies.
Breitbart said so!!

(10,885 posts)lots and lots of tapes. From what I'm hearing in all these TV interviews. tapes are his trademark. Tape the person speaking; tape the person spoken to; tape any witnesses in the room. He has tapes all right.
Personally, I'm finding the title interesting. It's "Fear: Trump in the White House", but you can leave out the colon and it reads as correctly, if not more so..."Fear Trump in the White House". This will be a bestie, for sure.

(51,723 posts)He said so himself and so have everyone else on the news today. Carl Bernstein said that is how he works. It is all legit and documented. The moron can NOT attack tapes! Proof and evidence all on tapes...seems like Watergate, only far worse.

(65,592 posts)even as he claims it was illegal to tape him and leak the tapes.
During the campaign he called his comments locker room talk and never denied.
tblue37
(65,592 posts)self-contradictory to claim it isn't him on the tape. Yet he has done so. My point is that even incontrovertible evidence like tapes--or like his earlier admission and locker room talk claim--doesn't prevent him from denying what happened.

(51,723 posts)a pathological liar. The only ones who believe his bullshit about that Access Hollywood tape still are the cult which is 35% of the population. Even all of his GOP supporters don't buy that ridiculous garbage anymore, it's only his kool-aid drinking base that does.

(8,028 posts)I always thought of Woodward as Republican-leaning. I also think he has tapes and lots of backup with detailed notes.
Since I suspected things were this bad in the WH, I don't find the book unreasonable at all. I doubt I'll buy it, too depressing.

(46 posts)I seriously doubt that Bob Woodward would blatantly lie about statements that he said came from Kelly, Cohn, Dowd, Mattis and who knows whoever else. Bob Woodward doesn't need to destroy his sterling reputation at this stage of his life. Trump has already posted two tweets with links to two website articles that debunk and deny these allegations. One article came from Breitbart and the other from the Daily Caller which is an extremely right-leaning conservative site.

(46 posts)"The usual pushback to unflattering books, one White House official said, is to discredit the author a tactic the White House deployed with mixed success following the publication of Michael Wolffs Fire and Fury and Manigault Newmans Unhinged. But that playbook is unlikely to work with Woodward, a veteran chronicler of presidencies and a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, the official added.
Conway, for instance, told others in the White House before Tuesday that Woodward was credible and that his book could be damaging.
A number of current and former White House aides said the books depiction rang true, even if they were not sure of every detail. Im not sure why everyone is acting so shocked, one former senior administration official said.
Ari Fleischer, a White House press secretary under President George W. Bush, defended Woodward in a tweet, saying that as someone who has been on the receiving end of one of Woodwards books, and not always favorably, he had no reason to doubt the journalists reporting and methods.
Never once never did I think Woodward made it up, Fleischer wrote. Anonymous sources have looser lips and may take liberties. But Woodward always plays [it] straight.

(33,018 posts)Woodward is certainly not the first, but he's maybe got the best street-cred.
A lot of people scoffed at Wolff's book "Fire and Fury" that came out in January, but the evidence of Trump's craziness has just piled up since then.
