News of Romney's VP pick coming out at almost midnight on a Friday night is just DUMB

So, Mitt will officially announce Ryan at 9am ET Saturday morning.

On a day when folks will be watching the Olympics and other sports and NOT the news.

Then on Sunday folks will be watching sports and the Olympic closing ceremonies.

By Monday all the news folks will be tired of talking about Paul Ryan.

I'm thinking that Mitt doesn't really want folks to hear about or talk about Ryan

But I'm ready for the Obama team to start hitting Ryan on his budget and medicare stance

Already on Twitter I've re-tweeted about the Ryan 'Death Coupons' (vouchers)

I'm thinking that Romney is trying to do all he can to LOSE this election

3. It does seem like Romney's trying to lose.

I know that Romney is out of touch, but it's still hard to account for this many missteps in such a major campaign. So many ridiculous things were said back during the GOP primary debates that I thought the Republicans must be trying to help Obama win. The big question, however, is why would they do such a thing? I'm guessing that they feel confident about holding on to the House and possibly winning the Senate as well, so their intention is to continue the obstruction of anything the Pres. tries to do, blame everything on the Dems, and try to win a landslide in 2016. Does that sound like too much long-range planning, or are there other scenarios I might not be considering?

if I were Romney, I'd be just a wee bit nervous that none of this is going to do a damn bit of good at jiggling that needle on the meter

Then again, it could feed into my prior theory that the old sages in the GOP establishment are using this election as a purge.

They hated Romney so they figured the best way to get rid of him was to run him against Obama and then label him a loser.

It could be they feel the Paul Ryan budget is an embarrassment to the party so this gives them the opportunity to get rid of it's author as well.

This opens the door for them to discredit the extremists that have arisen within their ranks.

I thought it might have been Walker for the same reason but the Ryan Budget is hailed by many in the Conservative Noise Machine as holly writ. Walker is probably going to be toast already in the next election, Ryan is hailed as a genius and a saviour.

Now, by "old sages", I'm talking about the types that still meet privately with Democrats and hash out details instead of acting like talking to the other party is cause for being burned at the stake.

Romney is hoping for a big bump due to this selection and the timing will lessen any impact of this decision.

Strategy of the good doctor worked before, let's do it again and re-take the House and get 60 plus in the Senate! You cannot win it if you don't aim high!
