if Hillary were to sue them for libel, they couldn't hide behind an absence of malice defense, since clearly, they knew the stories were false.

She could clean their clocks.

But even if Hillary doesn't sue them - and I doubt she will - other victims of their "journalism" would likely have an easier time proving libel given what's come out about the Enquirer patterns and practices.
