Make the gop impeach trump

Democrat's stance about impeachment should be "No impeachment until Mueller Probe is complete."

Repugs will try to blame impeachment on Democrats. It is their only way to maintain their racist base. With Cole being the first crack in the damn, the gop will soon want to remove the dying orange corpse from around their neck. Self-preservation will force them to break with trump as the manure is crashing through trump's house of cards.

If they can blame impeachment on Democrats and then shut down the Mueller Probe, they can escape exposure for their involvement in the trump-Russia conspiracy. If we demand the Mueller probe be completed and make the gop own impeachment they will alienate the racist base they have cultivated for decades. trump will tweet with impotence and when the gop pushes impeachment will turn his feeble hatred toward them. We must make the gop own their criminal involvement with trump and Russia. We must make them own the disaster of the trump presidency.

1. You only get one metaphorical shot at the king, maybe two if you are lucky.

Democrats should impeach tRump as soon as they take power with a majority in the House and there seems enough R support in the Senate to convict.

The only alternative I see is tricky but might work: Impeach him as soon as Democrats take power in the House, regardless of the state of the Senate. This forces Republicons onto the record. It is probably best to attempt if there is a reasonable chance that not too long after enough R Senator would defect to convict.

Americans do not have much stomach for repeated impeachment attempts; understandably so.

Tough calculations.

2. Republican senators convicting depends on how popular Trump is in their home states.

In most red states, Trump is still popular. They aren't going to basically end their political careers by voting to convict Trump, knowing that the next time they're up for election, their constituents are going to boot them in the primary.
