Any hopes that the congress will discipline 45 after nov 6th?

One theory is that after they get re-elected, maybe they'll be more willing to curtail his dictatorship.

1. depends, for one, all trumps and gop inititves are stopped

democrats will have the House and therefore control of spending. IF democrats have 51 seats (or more) in the senate, no more trump judges are appointed.

The we can see real oversight hearings, contempt of congress charges and trumps people going to jail....

2. Of course Democrats will rein in Trump as congressional

power will allow. Frankly, I can't believe anyone is even asking this question. Even the Koch brothers are recommending people elect Democrats to put a leash on that treasonous dictator-wannabe.

5. This election has major implications and lots of unknowns.

There is also the Mueller report. We don’t know if it will be coming soon or in a year or two.

So many scenarios.

Is congress split or do we gain both houses? What does the Mueller report say? Republicans will not be joining us in our overall condemnation.

We have a number of senate investigations that must be started. We need to get people testifying. Policy matters little outside of stopping Trump, even if we gain both chambers. We must continue to act as the opposition minority while wielding our newfound power if we get the majority. He is not going to sign off on a progressive agenda.

So many variable. The one thing I know is Trump is safe from Republicans joining us to make Trumps life a living hell.

I'm not optimistic.

When we take over i think the thinking will be along the lines of, "We were elected to get the job done. The American People want us to work together to etc.."

The Republicans will get a pass.

Then we have a say after the election. I suspect all the vice and corruption will still be an issue in Congress and the White House. We have a long and hard fight ahead of us. Winning one mid term election when the other side cheats isn’t going to be enough. We have to stop the pendulum from repeating past mistakes. We actually have to change things permanently. But we’ll see just how serious we are about this.

If nothing else our experience in the last couple of decades should drive it home to us that true Democracy is a never ending struggle. Freedom requires constant vigilance.

The Trump’s and their minions are ever ready to destroy anything that stands in the way of their greed.
