Hey DU... score one for the arts, hopefully (Detroit Institute of Arts)!

Today there was a millage proposal on the ballot in the tri-county area that would help fund the DIA. Two of the counties are locked, one is a close call.

This, IMO, is one of the crown jewels that everyone should be able to view (it is a mural painted by Diego Rivera):

I was a long time Detroit resident, almost 40 years. Yes! In the city.

I spent much time at the DIA, and the Main Library, just across Woodward. Both are wonderful places.

The Rivera murals are wonderful. One could look at them for hours and never find an end to the pleasure. I know. I have done that very thing.

I agree, one never tires of looking at them.

Each time I go to the DIA, I am awestruck when I enter this room.

For some strange reason, I have never gone to the main library. That is on my to-do list next time I go downtown!
