who is Reid's source?

could it be Arthur Culvahouse, who was head of McCain's VP commitee? He also had contact with Bain Managing Director Stephen G. Pagliuca here at a conference together in Hong Kong 2007. Culvahouse could also be a "Bain investor" or have contact with many who are, through mutual contacts, as well as having intimate familiarity with Romney's tax returns. I can imagine rich guys at the country club after a few martinis, gossiping about Willards tax schemes.

Or maybe Steve Schmidt ? Although he says he never "saw" Romneys tax returns, it doesn't mean someone didn't tell him they were toxic.

Or is Captain Morgan and Coke a bad idea after a 12 hour shift?

That guy has been around Romney a long time. Anyone around Romney more than a week hates his guts.
Finally saw the chance to get even

not sure, but it does seem everyone who knows him, hates him. A very useful thing, in an election.

.. even more than Nixon maybe, and that's saying a lot.

Until now, the Reeps have had one thing going for them:
a kind of avuncular likeabilty. You know, I like Ike, Unca
Ronnie, the good ole boy Bush, and McCain.

But hardly anyone likes Romney, not even his own people.
I know a lot of Reeps will vote for him just because of
meanspirited hate and/or greed, but very many of them
will hold their noses to do that.

I really think Obama has this election locked.

What I'm worried about are the House and Senate races.
We really need those chambers in a big way.

5. A McCain 2008 source.

I'll bet that Reid heard the report from a top echelon member of McCain's presidential campaign -- that just makes sense.

I don't think Reid is just pulling a hardball political maneuver ... even though I think that is entirely legitimate, too.

8. Even if RMoney releases his tax returns and they're squeaky clean ... Ried still has cards to play.

If Ried's source turns out to be lying, Ried should have no hesitation about revealing the source. Dollars to doughnuts, revealing the source would be very damaging to RMoney and the other Repubicans.

My guess it was a plant by a Rove protege.

11. Reid is a Mormon also.

Maybe he knows someone that handles the books for the Church? They probably keep better records than the IRS, as far as knowing the income of their members? Wouldn't the Mormon Church know how much income Romney made for the last 10 years?

17. Yeah, I wouldn't know how they tithe?

Or if they give a straight 10-15% of all income as a matter of ritual? Or if they tithe more in lieu of taxes? I suppose they do have a Treasurer that keeps track of all incomes and tithes to the church?
