(31,274 posts)probably not. We're more low profile...our presence adds to the numbers protesting.

(42,770 posts)part of Texas. But eventually hoping to be in a blue place. Is San Antonio mostly Dems?

(25,804 posts)It's not red....but our suburbs tend to be red. (Overall Bexar County votes Democratic - about 55% Democratic)
We've got poor areas where are blue, but newcomers may not want to live there....
It's blue enough where I live and I live in a decent part of town. (My precinct is 60% Republican...surrounding precincts tend to be more Democratic)
There really aren't rednecks within the city of San Antonio. It's more just middle of the road. I didn't see my first Trump bumper sticker until July 2017.

(51,660 posts)Last Sat there were 5,000 of us. Tomorrow there will be more. 10 days ago there were less than 10 marches planned, today there are over 750! We are strong and ready for the battle, the first of many this Summer and Fall as we fight for our country's survival! WE ARE THE TRUE PATRIOTS!

(42,770 posts)In Carlsbad. Very cool part of US! So thankful for California! Went to grocery there and getting/asking for a plastic bag was like you were so uncool.
Do you have good ideas for signs?
BigmanPigman
(51,660 posts)but I made a new sign for a friend. I saw a lot of them last Sat and liked them. They got green poster board and wrote "I Really Do Care, Do U?" worn like a placard. I also saw people wearing mylar emergency blankets like the children are given in the detention facilities so I got one of mine out of my Earthquake Emergency Kit and made it into a poncho.

(20,605 posts)place.
The guy who was going to set something off at LAX years ago was caught here by customs agents. After that, they brought in about 25 border patrol agents. The boss wanted a bigger office and they had to have 50 agents before they could approve a new building. They hired 25 more agents even as one of the original 25 testified before Congress that they had nothing to do and were required to work overtime - doing nothing. They sit outside the Hispanic grocery store with binoculars, they do the same at agricultural fields, they cruise neighborhoods, hang out in the parking lots at parks.
They got the new building with a jail and iron bars surrounding it.

(4,317 posts)I wanted to go to Washington, DC, but I couldn't find a secure way to get there. I am new in this area, and too old to learn to drive on those larger expressways. Then I found out my town is doing something pretty great.

(91,013 posts)...that I would have to bite my tongue and hide my politics the rest of my life. The Realtor who showed us all around was born and bred there, just a charming lady, used to ride her horse everywhere as as a kid and teen -- and had a bumper sticker in her office window that said "Hillary for Prison" a long time before the primaries were even thought of.
It's still a beautiful valley, and I'll still take my sis there to visit the wineries when she comes to visit!

Side 1: Taking children from their parents is CHILD ABUSE!
Side 2: Gov-sponsored CHILD ABUSE IS EVIL!
These evil fucking sociopaths need to be locked up, not children!!

(1,595 posts)Either St. Joseph, Michigan or South Bend, Indiana. I work in South Bend, but live in Michigan. We have a group that meets at Fred Upton's St. Joe office every Tuesday at noon to protest and I would love to be there with my friends for this gathering.
