1. He is right. Problem is when McConnel did that the republicans had a majority in the Senate

We don't have a majority in the Senate, so it will be very difficult to delay it indefinitely, especially since I suspect trump would have no problem appointing a SC nominee when Congress is on recess

5. If dems didn't show up for the votes, no quorum, no vote.

But they would show up to recess so no recess appointments but leave if a vote is held. However, this will never happen. They have no spine and think they always have to play by the rules, no realizing that our democracy is in severe danger.

10. The OP just has the initial tweet...here's the entire unrolled tweets, which addresses this...

Tweet #1:
The first thing all Dems need to do is get a firm mental grip on the new rules.
McConnell annihilated every norm of the nomination process to deny Garland a hearing or vote and steal the Court for a generation.
If you play by the old rules, you're playing a fool's game.

Tweet #2:
The second thing is to lock down all Dem votes.
When Gorsuch was confirmed McConnell had one more vote than he does now (Luther Strange).
Locking in all 49 Ds as nays shifts the focus to Collins, Murkowski, Flake and others and gives McConnell no margin for error.

Tweet #3:
There's no procedural silver bullet. The most important Q is whether Ds have the will to fight against overturning Roe v. Wade in an election year where women are driving Dems' strength.
They have 49 votes - McConnell can only lose 2 incl McCain.
Lock down 49 & fight like hell.

4. The Problem

The problem for Democrats is that they do not have the power to do what McConnell did. Democrats do not have enough votes to upend the process.

So they might as well go down fighting. I don't want to see one Democrat on the Hill caving in "for the sake of bipartisanship." There was a time I would approve of that. But the rules have changed. The country is in danger. WE are in danger.

and are geared up for a bloody fight (figuratively speaking). Are they? Will they? None of this "They SHOULD do this..." or "The Repubs SHOULD do tha..." or "The honorable hting to do would be....."

Those a-holes don't play by the rules. If the Dems do, they're playing a fool's game, like he tweet says.

8. Keep this one thing in mind: Hillary won the popular vote.

She won the majority of voters.

Trump only won the electoral college.

California gets cheated in presidential elections because of the electoral college.

13. That's exactly why it's dangerous

to stoop to their level in my opinion. Blocking this, especially if we can throw the republicans' nonsense right back at them, might work, and in the case of the Supreme Court is definitely important enough. But i would argue we do things like that with caution. At the end of the day any republic is nothing more than a series of traditions, and if nobody is actively working to uphold them by valuing the continued adherence to republic traditions above all else, even political victory, then the republic is sure to die eventually as we end up in a race to see who can be the biggest cheater, who can undermine and break more traditions to their benefit, and who can race to claim the crown of absolute authority. Tradition is everything in preserving a republic.
