Trump will eventually drop his obsession with the "wall" to get immigration legislation...

..and his supporters will be OK with it.

He will come up with some lie, such as, he had to postpone it in order to keep migrant families together, because it bothered him very much that families were being torn apart.

But, if the voters put more Republicans into office, perhaps the Democrats will stop obstructing so much and we can finally build a big, beautiful wall...

Or some such rot.

He doesn't care about the wall. But he cares about looking like he's planning a wall. struggle4progress Jun 2018 #8

It is like when Obama was proven to be a born US citizen. He said nothing and wouldn't even speak about it ever again and blew it off. His fragile ego will never permit him to believe he is ever wrong about anything. He is a narcissistic soiocpath after all.

he is not gonna give up on it easily; we already are witnessing how far he will go to get that wall funded.

He doesn't know how to cut his losses, take a half a loaf, etc. If he doesn't get it, he will bitch the whole way home about who's fault it 'REALLY' is.

His idiot base wants that ridiculous boondoggle as much as he does, and he knows it.

Let me help you. Don the Con likes to see his name on everything. He considers himself a great builder. The presidency, and by extension this wall, will live on long after he is gone. This wall represents a national narcissistic legacy to this creep. His personal Mount Rushmore if you will. If you think that this narcissistic asshole is going to trade a memorial to himself for legislation that he doesn’t give a damn about, then you know little or nothing about what makes this jackass tick.
