This is not the end of the unlawful detention but just the beginning.
The unlawful detention of children will continue and get worse.
Why?
Because this administration doesnt care.
This congress doesnt care.
The media doesnt care.
People dont care.
Why?
Because if they cared the administration wouldnt be ramping up their efforts.
Because if they cared then members of Congress wouldnt be looking at the ground kicking rocks or blustering about legislation but not actually putting any forth.
If people cared, collectively, they would be taking to the streets by the tens of thousands, not hundreds.
Millions of people in the US can manage to watch Kim Kardashian on TV but cant get their asses off the couch unless its to get new bag of Cheetos.
If enough people actually cared this administration wouldnt have enacted their zero tolerance fear campaign against immigrants in the first place.
If enough people actually cared than Congress would pass actual legislation to stop trump.
If enough people actually cared than the media would do their jobs and ask the hard questions, the follow up questions and do actual reporting.
People love a good them to blame all their problems on. Makes life easier because its always someone elses fault.
The sad, unfiltered reality is that things are the way they are because of us. Not them. US. Collectively. We are them. You may care. Unfortunately we do not. Their in lies the problem. That is the them. If only there was a way to change that.
We can change things. We have all the power. We hold all the cards. If only it were not for them.

(9,895 posts)Americans are becoming horrified by a single audio recording alone...couple that to video and young babies inconsolable in tears? You may just get riots in the streets at that point...
This is fascist government 101 messaging and control, but you are not wrong...Americans of ANY stripe should be outraged to the point of violent resistance at this point...
