On a leader-to-leader level, relationships between the U.S. and its most powerful allies are in tatters, Axios reports.
Antipathy for the U.S. in allied countries extends far beyond those leaders, and its spiking under Trump. The U.S. has historically been the de facto leader within its strategic alliances, but an unpopular leader can quickly become a bully.

(9,895 posts)What is happening is nothing short of a cataclysmic dismantling of the post-WWII order and the New Deal in one fell swoop...the SCOTUS is lost for a generation or more...the Presidency is besmirched to a shadow of its former prestige...the nation is becoming more and more isolated and cast off by the day with 45% of the population whistling Dixie and feelin' fine again now that there is a white man in the White House, while the rest of us shake our heads and stare agape at the slow motion train-wreck in-progress.
RIP USA....it was a decent run at times, some real highlights and quite a few blooper reels too...but the show closes on a real sour note now...
