"Lies, lies, lies, lies, nothing but lies, lies, lies, that is all they got"

My benefits practice has a large percentage of border securtiy law enforcement clients.

I ask them how things have been for their 401k, most of them are quiet types, not that into politics. I show them how their 401ks go up under Democrats and crash under Republicans. All are surprised. Most murmur something like "I thought so", a few are die hard Republicans who stare at the numbers speechless. Most are Hispanics who I can tell identify with Democrats.

This afternoon a senior guy close to retirement asks me to come over. I have to help him with a few forms. I mention that today the Affordable Health Care Act is expanding today to include more prevention coverage for women.

There are 5 law enforcement people in this guys family, brothers, and nephews.

"Lies, lies, lies, lies, nothing but lies, lies, lies, that is all they got.

Given the demographics and the strong law enforcement background I thought I touched on a Rush Limbaugh fanatic.

Gave him a second and then he was off,

"Romney lied from day one and he has lied every day since. It is all they got. My brothers are Republicans and we get together and everyone is pissed. Everyone knows that the health care industry was collapsing and it was either going to be socialized health care or this plan that they did in Mass. All of our nephews and nieces are still on our plans and now everybody is going to be able to get it."

"All they have against Obama is their lies and if this country lets them get away with it, it will sink like lead in water."

These are people that are conservative Catholics, law and order folks who fit the Republican demographics very well. I was astonished at their anger.

As Lincoln said

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time,

but

You can't fool all of the people all off the time".

Some of the people are getting really really angry about Romney and his machine of lies.

For those of us including myself who are in stunned awe at the amount of lies and utter stupidity that we see daily in the Republican Party, it is SWEET to know that not all of them are lost souls. It is great to see a Republican open his/her eyes and see reality for the first time. I remember when it happened to me -- it was a true awakening where I suddenly one day sat down, started thinking and realized that I was on the wrong side. That was a rush, a real WTF moment. Hopefully your clients will continue on the same path. Your story also gives me hope that my efforts -- OUR efforts -- at trying to help other Republicans see the truth aren't wasted.

I just shake my head in amazement at how many LIES reich-wingers tolerate. Virtually everyone I've ever known places "LYING" at the top of the list of what they just won't tolerate with any neighbor, co-worker, friend, spouse, or other family member. Of all the possible things I know of, short of outright mayhem, lying is responsible for the most splits, break-ups, and disassociations. No matter what else, our education, our religion, our politics, I've always thought this was something humans had most in common. There's just no way in the world I'd support a candidate that lied to get my vote, especially as habitually and frequently as the MittWit has lied.

If the GOP is successful, GONE will be free public education, reliable infrastructure like roads and bridges and utilities, freedom to retire, freedom to be a child, freedom from compulsory rightwing state religion, freedom from unhealthy air and bad water, freedom from contaminated foods, freedom from sickness and epidemics, freedom from debtors prisons, freedom from life-saving information about tornadoes and hurricanes and floods and fires, freedom from police and fire department service, freedom to get your news from independent sources, freedom from basic preventative health programs for infants and women and the poor and elderly, freedom from Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Benefits, freedom from the Post Office........basically, freedom from everything people want in their lives.

Either party can point at the other and yell "lies" and actually I'd agree that all politicians lie. But their griefs lack logic. How do you debate people who totally lack reasoning capability?

Their biggest issues:

Spending: Fact is, Dems spend less than Republicans.
Healthcare: Fact is, Every developed country provides healthcare, there is not rational argument for denying it.
Welfare: Republicans have no way of reducing the number of people who need help (they'll probably increase it.)
Economy: The stock markets have nearly doubled since Obama's been elected.

List goes on and on. All Repukes have left is totally irrational arguments, and therefore, must lie in campaign ads.

It is so annoying seeing all the irrational adolescent whiny complaints coming from the Riecht.
