"No, Idiots, Michelle Wolf Did Not Attack Sarah Sanders' Appearance"

It is worth reading;

"...Here’s the problem: Michelle Wolf did nothing of the sort during her excellent performance. The remark in question was that she’s “resourceful” because “she burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye.”..."

but I haven't seen any attacks on her appearance. I don't know how long Michelle Wolf spoke so I haven't necessarily read everything. I'm puzzled by this controversy.

Her enunciation wasn't the best.

I thought she said "fat" and "ass" at first, but then I figured those words had nothing to do with "smokey eyes".

what she said was pretty mild about a woman who is willing to lie everyday about trump, not answer legitimate questions and treat journalists like little children. They should be up in arms about Huckabee not Michelle Wolf.

over something that never happened. Typical.

Oh, and btw: the idea that SHS's appearance was made fun of is fake news.

Anyone who has seen or read The Handmaid's Tale knows that she is a frumpy, physically unattractive character. That is the appearance shaming I thought crossed a line.

my read is that the Aunt Lydia cut was a reference to the character being an enabler and apologist for the worst kind of personal misogony and political fascisim, and THATS what was similar.

A coincidence that she has been mocked for her appearance and was compared to an unattractive character?

isn't in regard to the appearance of Aunt Lydia, but her character.

Though the Aunt Lydia joke was sharp, it was not a reference to Sander’s looks, unless you think Ann Dowd, who plays the character, is unattractive (she’s not). The Aunt Lydia jab was a direct reference to how Sanders is used as a tool by Trump and, arguably, the entire patriarchy to keep women down. In The Handmaid’s Tale, the Aunts are a class of women assigned to brainwash new Handmaids with the government’s beliefs and mores, and help the women accept their fates as birth vessels. Aunt Lydia uses torture, such as shocking Handmaids with cattle prods, whipping them, and partially blinding one divergent Handmaid in an effort to gain complete obedience. “I’m sorry, Aunt Lydia,” is one of the first phrases that a new Handmaid learns.

It's a common literary or theatrical device to make villains unattractive.
