"In another hideous example of adults and men being absolute shit, the father of a New Hampshire little league baseball player says two coaches in his daughters league conspired to have her beaned so that she would quit the league"
How is this not conspiracy to commit assault and battery on a minor?

(34,661 posts)truth my friend. Umpired Little League and Park Board Baseball. Had to eject a Coach for a similiar action and this was in the late 1970's. The Young Lady was the best Catcher in the League as well as the Kid could park the ball .

(38,958 posts)Commentary adults and men being absolute shit. Sweeping generalizations do not add to the argument.
What was done was wrong and needs to be addressed by those in authority, but insulting the adult population does not further the discussion.

(38,958 posts)That they arent your words, but I again must repeat that attacking all adults and all men does not further the discussion. That you choose to support what amounts to name calling is unfortunate.

(6,252 posts)My agreement has more to do with my opinion of the human race. While it may be true that for every Hitler or Pol Pot there is a Mother Theresa or a Gandhi, I find there are far too many Adolf Eichmanns ready to hurt/harm people if told it's God's will or in the national interest. Anyway, you given something to reflect upon and for that I thank you.

(38,958 posts)and I appreciate that many choose to behave otherwise. I suppose that we see the "benefit" of the anonymous nature of the internet in action far too often. I likewise understand your thoughts on the human race and we see inhumanity almost also far too often.
That said, there are many folks (adults both men and women) out there doing good in large and small ways, be it checking on a neighbor, helping at a food bank, donating to a charity or cause, coaching youth sports, volunteering at a charity or simply holding a door for another.
As was once inscribed on a coffee cup our department gave to a boss years ago who was catching hell from upper management. "Don't Let The Bast*sds Wear You Down".
