This asshole on another message board ran with a story about Fred Rogers being a "sniper."
(He wasn't.)
When someone pointed out this story was false, the "conservative" wrote this:
"Too bad - I like the thought of him having been a sniper."
"Imagine in his voice "OK Mr Gook I'm gonna need you to stay still for just a minute while I blow your fucking brains out."
Is this today's "conservatives?"
Afraid so...

I dont think this idiots comments represent the typical conservative these days. I think its more related to the long-standing phenomenon of shit posting that certain internet trolls love to do for attention.
Unfortunately saying things like this is a fairly common habit among internet shit posters or edge lords (as they call themselves) as they like to make inappropriate, violent, grotesque, racist, ridiculously sexual and/or sexist, inflammatory, etc posts to get attention from other posters. Their primary goal on political sites is to divert attention from a topic being discussed by posting something appalling and tangential that will get a reaction. I imagine the poster you cited is mainly trying to get other posters worked up and to get attention (they love negative attention).
