(10,533 posts)It's stealing people's personal histories, using the information to build psychological profiles, and then using algorithms to bombard them with false messages designed to prey on their mental vulnerabilities. All to distort their perception of reality and manipulate them into acting in a certain way.
This is truly evil, evil stuff.

(54,770 posts)the lies and distortions on social media. People that obtuse, weren't likely to vote for Clinton.
I hope we learned a lesson, but we were not ready to respond to swiftboating on social media. Maybe we were naive or complacent, but we should have done a better job.
Hopefully next election, we'll be ready for junk from Ruskies, swiftboaters, lying GOPers, the next Comey, or whatever new mechanisms they develop. If not, we'll lose again. I firmly believe Kerry lost in 2004 because Bin Laden (with a little encouragement from GOPers) released a scary video the Friday before the election.
We have to do a better job, and more importantly get out the vote like we did in 2008, Maryland, Alabama, and Pennsylvania. Then, we win despite this devious crud.
