Why has trump legal team said he wont fire mueller

Over in late breaking news its been reported that cobb will release a statement saying trump wont fire mueller. What is their reasoning behind this? trump is up to something this week i gurantee it.

that Trump is not considering firing Mueller. Of course, in a day or two or three, they'll have to come up with an excuse as to why Trump got him fired.

12. Special counsel regs limit who can fire Mueller, and must be for cause

Only the deputy attorney general who appointed him can fire him, and only for cause. Trump can fire deputy generals until he gets his Bork but then if Mueller is fired Mueller can go to court saying it is not for cause. But then Trump can just repeal the special counsel regulations and fire him himself. But then Mueller can go to court and argue that no target should be able to fire his prosecutor, that otherwise the President could become a serial killer of children without risk. I saw a jurisprude on TV say she thought Mueller would prevail with that argument.
