Don't wait for the wave. Don't watch the wave.

Be the wave.

And pound against the shore again and again - this election, next election, every election.

A few years ago my wife and I and many Democrats spent over 2 months fighting a recall petition drive on 80th & Wadsworth even when it snowed protesting these RW Nazis recalling our state senator. At one point I was out 8 straight hours with my signs virtually without a break. I lost count of how many days and how many hours we were out their.

I am prepared to do it again even though disabled now.

My "be the wave" comment was meant as a general call to arms for all of us. I was in no way telling you to "get off your butt"!

and you see just how gross years of neglect and usage by some unsavory people have made it?

The Blue Wave is really a big squirt of toilet bowl cleaner... and some toilets are going to take a number of scrubbings before being presentable again.

So it's really good not to believe in the power of a single election... we are going to need some really strong Lysol and many applications to get the shit stains out of our government.

... are just the beginning of the future. Democracy takes passion, tenacity, perseverance... and eternal vigilance.
