when some of the more clueless in the middle class saw the tiny tax cut they got while the rich got billions, they actually were happy with drumpf for a few weeks and his approval crept up to 40%. now that the luster of that has worn off, he's back to 37%... which is still 37% above sanity, but trending in the right direction.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's approval rating has dipped back below 40%, a new poll released Wednesday found.
Trump's approval rating stands at 37%, slightly down from 40% approval earlier this month, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University released Wednesday. A majority of Americans, 58%, disapprove of the President's job performance.
Trump had seen a slight rise in his approval rating following his State of the Union speech.
Four in 10 Americans, 40%, say they like the President's policies, but only 3 in 10, 30%, say they like Trump as a person. Of Republican voters, 89% like Trump's policies, but only 68% like him as a person.

(51,591 posts)MSNBC went to the CA area that Nunes represents, very rural, white, farmers. They went with the Nunes Dem. Janz challenger along with them. The old and young told the them that they do not want to talk to "fake news people" and most don't know or don't care about Russia. Janz has had a lot of donations to oppose Nunes but the constituents' main issues when they vote are the supply of water and immigration. This is ironic since the cheap labor they employ for their farms is done by immigrants and the water shortage in CA is a result of Climate Change. Both issues are supported by the Dems...doesn't make sense but when you consider that they are brainwashed and have been for two generations by Fux Ruse and right wing propaganda it isn't surprising.

(22,037 posts)The vast majority of Americans have never traveled outside our country. They have never had any interactions with people in their native lands.
In contrast, other countries are located within continents that are also home to many other countries. Over the centuries, they've learned to get along... mostly.
A better, broader public American education is the only way our people will become better citizens of the Earth.

(51,591 posts)can they expand their horizons and experiences to have a broader perspective when they do not want to? They do not join the peace corps and many are afraid to or have odd images of traveling and having new experiences. A hundred years ago our country had tons first generation immigrants but the same mentality doesn't exist very much with their current descendants. Now their offspring they have become "Americans". This is NOT a step toward progress if they choose to remain isolated and ignorant.

(3,479 posts)in solid shape. 37% approval when the country is at 4% unemployment is beyond dreadful.
The second there's a hint of an economic slump, shithead's approval rating will dip into the 20s.
