http://www.newsweek.com/mueller-investigation-pressuring-trump-toward-pushing-nuclear-button-mental-806324Many have expressed this fear here at DU as well... but this is a panel of experts reported in NEWSWEEK!
The stress of Muellers intensifying investigation is clearly driving him crazy, psychologist John Gartner said of Trump during a panel of mental health and nuclear weapons experts convened by the "Need to Impeach" campaign Monday night in Washington, D.C.
What we need to understand is that for him, this also is pushing him towards pushing the nuclear button because it would solve all of his problems, said Gartner, claiming that Trump has no empathy or concern for the people whose lives would be destroyed.

(3,194 posts)I have no doubt that everything he can do to halt the Russia investigation will be done. Legal and otherwise.
But this talk about the nuclear button is just a distraction. It's not going to happen anytime soon.

(3,194 posts)It's not like there's anything we can do about it.
If he does push the button, that's the breaks. We are pretty helpless to do much about it.

(15,888 posts)that is pro-tRump. Read this recent write up about them in this Rolling Stone article:

They also seem to be connected in some way to the Washington Times and the Moonies. I no longer consider Newsweek a reliable source.

(21,786 posts)John Gartner is a licensed psychologist who was a professor at Johns Hopkins, and this is reported elsewhere: https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/13/trump-mental-state-tom-steyer-407176

(15,888 posts)I don't care what qualifications the psychologist has. I do care about the medium in which it is published.

(21,563 posts)There are strict rules of ethics against "diagnosing from afar" and even if you did, a legit person in the field wouldn't say "driving him crazy". They would use a medical term.
