Not only that, we have a strongly DECENTRALIZED government, with 50 separate states etc. all with their own governments, including their own constitutions? OUR federal constitution gives to the states all rights that are not reserved to the federal government BY THE CONSTITUTION. And nowhere in that constitution is the right to impose religion on the states.

And if that's not enough, where would you be as one of 330,000,000 people -- representing beliefs in literally thousands of different religions -- as all this was happening? Dutifully attending a government-approved church twice a week and turning people who use profane language in to the religious police?

Perhaps it'll help you sleep tonight to know that the citizens of Indiana were very likely to toss Pence out of office (an incumbent governor running for reelection doesn't normally lose) because of his legally very limited but nasty attempts to impose his religion on the state. He'd gotten elected by posing as a moderate conservative.

I am sure they wish they could figure out a way to muzzle her. What is crazy is that she is part of a reality show and most of us are smart enough to know those shows are scripted out the wazoo. The notion that she is letting us in on the real secrets of the Oval Office is laughable. I am sure she knows things that she could spill. But the whispered nuggets between Omarosa and Ross the Intern are just too juicy for their own good. The phony tears just added to the drama and angst.

I've been keeping an eye out for reports of new policies that would separate children from their parents as a form of terrorizing recalcitrant immigrants into compliance. Or "self-deportation" as Romney so soullessly put it.

It's been discussed for people caught entering the country for some time. Kelly considered that back when he was head of DHS, and the topic has been raised or leaked a few times in 2017, including just a couple months ago.
