Trump Adviser Says You Don't Need a Flu Shot

February 6, 2018 at 7:44 am EST By Taegan Goddard

Gloria Copeland, a controversial minister on President Trump’s evangelical advisory board, said flu shots aren’t necessary when you have Jesus, the HuffPost reports.

Said Copeland: “Inoculate yourself with the word of God.”

She said the faithful who don’t have the flu can ward off the infection by repeatedly saying, “I’ll never have the flu. I’ll never have the flu.”

Not only does this idiot give religion a bad name, but she is encouraging people to make a dangerous choice. Someone should remind her that about 85% of children who died from the flu did not get the vaccine. Asshole!

That mind over matter stuff. And Evangelical Christians do not recognize Christian Scientists as being real Christians at all.

12. This Doesn't Work!

I tried this in '79, it didn't work. Maybe it was because I left out the god part. We had a massive Russian flu epidemic at my college. It was awful. I decided to believe fervently that I wouldn't get it and see how things turned out. I actually started to believe it because everyone around me was sick and I wasn't. But...positive thinking gave way to wishing I were dead when I was the last person around me to get the flu. Sickest I've ever been. Lyme disease was a close second.

15. Could this proclamation become an extinction level event for evangelicals?

I've known evangelicals who eschewed health insurance because they believed it was an act of unfaithfulness in God's ability to take care of them.

I hope they skip their pneumonia shots, too.
