Last edited Thu Feb 1, 2018, 01:30 PM - Edit history (6)
Let's begin:
To start their day, the republican's were involved in both a literal and metaphoric train wreck
The ratings on trumps SOTU speech are the lowest in 20 years
trump's wife is still pissed
The FBI Director has come out strongly advising against releasing the Nunes memo
It appears that the Stormy Daniels (porn star's) signature denying that she had an affair and payoff with trump is not her signature
The former chair of the Colorado republican party was sentenced to 4 years probation and 300 hours of community service for voter fraud
Federal Court ruled that republicans can't restructure Consumer Protection Bureau
GOP Arkansas State Senator has resigned after being convicted of fraud
It looks like Ben Carson has been up to his ears in corruption, so bad that even the trump legal team is alarmed
the FBI agent that republicans have been criticizing was found to have been advocating re-opening Hillary Clinton email probe thus negating the republicans claim of him being anti trump
Reports have it that Dep. Atty Gen. Rosenstein was asked about his loyalty to trump
Trey Gowdy will not seek re-election
Roger Stone got caught trying to visit Julian Assange today
trump's CDC head had to resign today after being outed buying tobacco stock while heading up that agency
trump's South Korean ambassador pick, comes out against trump and thus trump withdraws his nomination
That's a lot for one day. So Democratic and fellow progressives and liberals cheer up!
It sucks to be a republican!!!!

(100,070 posts)And between songs their lead singer said "I don't know what a shithole country is but I do know what a shithole president is!" I loved hearing that come from a stage! That alone and hearing the reaction from the crowd was worth the price of admission!

(63,221 posts)It's like being in a really effed up relationship - one moment its great, the next it's hellish. I feel like things go well for us and then the next day they seem to be invincible again and just keep on destroying the country and the poor and middle classes knowing that nobody can stop them. I almost feel like I have PTSD. Anyway, just trying to be as optimistic as possible!

Cha
(297,205 posts)it well. It was just such a stark difference between all the scary news on the day of the sotu until the next day when things didn't seem to be going so well for the traitors.

DAMN, they're so F**KING bad, and STILL, they keep their people in there.
Really? Mitch "TURTLE" McConnell? Who the F**K would EVER vote for him? And he's running the government?
Truly, gimme' a good 2018 turnout or I'm just gonna' give it all up!

(6,262 posts)For some reason, I was in the dumps today that the whole evil cabal is going to skate on all this crap, despite the TRUTH front and center to our nation and the world.
I never even think to try to put myself in their shoes. This perspective is helpful.
Especially since I, and I suspect many of the US, just cannot keep track of the myriad instances of negative events from the point of view of the Repubs.

(4,558 posts)I just dont remember a day since 20-Jan-2017 where there wasnt a huge list of crap that, at any other time in history, would have been a president and his partys undoing. Yet, somehow, this tsunami of shit just seems to keep on washing by.

(22,976 posts)Sadly, it was a pretty good day for Vlad, too.
But I will ask this of Republicans: What the fuck happened to your go-to law-and-order bullshit? What happened to your getting a flaming red-ass over government spending and debting? What happened to your vintage, hollow retort, If you dont love America, why dont you move to Russia?

(323 posts)1/3 of the country doesn't give a shit about any of this, because they just want to be aligned with the bullies. We cannot, and will not reach them with the message that they are being screwed by their masters. We need to get out the vote, because they surely will.

(3,515 posts)And then I straightened up, and I remembered that Trump is living in the White House, and I realized it's all true. A true nightmare!
Who'd ever have believed.
I remember when Eisenhower was the Republican president. Republicans were actually human though perhaps flawed back then.
How the world changes and not always for the better.
