"Trump...told May that he would not visit the UK unless she bans the planned protests..."

WHAT. A. FLAGILE. SNOWFLAKE. Trump literally, no joke, told May that he would not visit the UK unless she bans the planned protests when he arrives.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/donald-trump-tells-theresa-may-he-wont-visit-uk-unless-she-bans-protests-1656638

Donald Trump is refusing to visit the UK unless Theresa May can ensure that he is not met with protests.

Bloomberg revealed that Trump complained in a phone call to May about the "negative coverage" he has received in the British press.

May told the US president that that was how the UK media operated and she could do little to change it.

Trump went on to say that he would not visit the UK unless there were guarantees that he would not be met with protests.

Does he really think that she can ban her people from protesting? Short of physical, military force - which would be barbaric and is not going to happen - there is no way to ban the Brits from protesting. His asking for it is only going to want to make them protest against him even more. They hate him as much if not more than we do.

Perhaps Donnie should do the Brits a favor and stay home.

I think she realized that, if she DID try to ban protests(or used harsh police methods to suppress them)such a step would guarantee her defeat by the Labour Party at the next general election.

the closest AFAIK in recent history when a few months ago he visited Yuma and San Luis, in the very SW corner of AZ, on his way to his Reichsparteitag in Phoenix. Went to the Marine Corps Air Station and the border to be treated to a dog-and-pony show put on by the Marines and CBP. In other words, stayed in safe territory literally and figuratively.

Yeah, coddled whiny baby. Even worse than chimpy, who also was insulated from protestors.

No, she won't stop protests. That would be the last thing she'll do right now. Brits are ready to take to the streets as it is. If May pours gasoline on the fire...

I'd venture a guess that May and the UK government are relieved that Trumpy won't visit, and don't want to see him on their soil ever again. Of course, he has business interests to the north, but by now, I'd guess that his Scotland resort isn't doing so well. They don't like him, and their animus toward him is increasing by the week, just as it is here.
