if a non-political appointee recorded it, that would be a violation of the hatch act.

if the federally-funded property were to be used to fund-raise for a political entity, that would be a violation of campaign laws.

but just using that platform to make a political dig?
not a lawyer, but i don't think it's illegal.

slimy and destructively partisan as hell, but not illegal.

My general understanding is that as long as they don’t identify specific individuals seeking office or seek political contributions, it’s not legally a problem.

Partisan political activities are those activities directed at the success or failure of a political party, candidate for partisan political office, or partisan political group. While most Federal employees are permitted to take an active part in partisan political management and partisan political campaigns, the Hatch Act does prohibit certain participation by all Federal employees. Federal employees may not seek public office in partisan elections, use their official title or authority when engaging in political activity, solicit or receive contributions for partisan political candidates or groups, and engage in political activity while on duty.

almost 40% of our fellow citizens are okay with the president acting like an adolescent bully. They share a trait with Trump - they will never admit when they are wrong. In fact, a number of them will double down.

This administration breaks laws and violates the Constitution on a daily basis, and no one does (or can do, it seems) anything about it. Trump can roast and eat a baby on live TV, and the Legislative Branch will shrug their shoulders and his followers cheer him.
