Romney's problem is that he is rich and not connected to anything real.

He hasn't had a real job in years. He wants for nothing. He's been heir apparent for the last 4 years. That is why he doesn't 'pop'. He tried to give one interview, which is a way of keeping it real, and he was gobsmacked. All the while Newt makes it seem emotionally 'real' by creating 'life or death' situations for 'others': poor kids or palestinians or whichever group he is attacking.

He spent $7 million of his own money against Ted Kennedy. He's used to trying to manipulate reality with money. This is anything but a grass roots kind of guy.
