I can't think of many times in history where one person has made such an impact about a national conversation with simply a book.
Thank You Michael Wolff.
You peeled back the layer of slime to reveal all the stinkier slime below the surface.
We applaud you in Seattle.

(10,417 posts)I have not read the book yet. I have read bunches on it and sections. And I've heard many interviews on it - some with Wolff and a number without.
This book is not 'balanced journalism' - it is kind of tabloid - "he said/she said".
But it is going to be really hard for Trump to hide this problem for another three years - basically impossible now that Wolff has shined some bright media lights on it.
I would also note that the WH might nitpick over this or that and make some sweeping denials (for example, they say Trump knew Boehner .... overlooking that Trump might not know Boehner now ...) but there have been few specific denials. Wolff did speak with these people many times - they don't deny it and knowing he had a tape recorder, they are not able to take back their words.
I can't conclude Wolff is 100% accurate but I can conclude he's got a bunch of things to tell us that are true.
One other thing no one seems to have brought up: this is a whole set of evidence fodder for Mueller. This book is likely going to help them fill in some missing pieces to their puzzles. Not only does it provide some facts and third party testimony - it gives them insight to the factions in the WH and their dynamic - to assist Mueller's team in questioning them - for example: helping play them off against other people in the WH they do not like.
So this book is not just bad PR for the White House - it could expose more of their criminal behavior. And Wolff has tapes of these quotes ....
When the dust from the fallout of this book settles, I think we will conclude Wolff did the country a great service that accelerated the demise of an illegitimate president.

(90,225 posts)one reason it's getting as much attention though is because of the reaction from Trump which confirms what he is saying in the book.
