The post was about 2 GOP reps who wanted Sessions to be fired. Everyone was happy (the Dems I mean) but whoever wrote the article suggested that this was not good and the GOP reps had bigger plans for this. They wanted Sessions fired so that the Mueller Investigation could be derailed by the GOP more easily.
NOW I see what was going on a little more clearly. This is the plan! Also, Ryan and Nunes being called into meet with Rosenstein...and everything is the same! No one got into trouble. Ryan and Nunes are happy as campers. NOT GOOD NEWS!

(3,430 posts)...firing politically popular. We know its to can Mueller. That's how bad their hand is. What they're counting on, what these bullies are counting on just like in November 2000, is to be intimidated and let them get away with it.
We need to prepare to shut it all down, our donor class and our working people.

(70,779 posts)There were no details and we assumed it was about laying down the law against NUNES, but then we found out NUNES was not in trouble and got whatever he wanted.

(4,834 posts)He knows he is also in trouble: Lied in writing when he claimed that Comey was fired because of Clinton investigation rather than Trump's admitted reason, to end investigation of Russian connection.

(4,834 posts)He knew the real reason for Comey's dismissal was as Trump later stated: to stop the Russia link investigation. Yet he wrote the justification was Comey's miss-handling of the close of the Clinton investigation. A party man, he and White House hoped the Clinton camp would follow along without question, but Trump just has a lot of trouble keeping secrets. Rosenstein, in my opinion, is out in the wind right now and has got to be wondering how to keep the current distractions on the front page. He must have been happy to meet with Ryan etc to make sure they knew he would continue to play their game...whatever that is. We've now learned that there was a lot of effort put into getting Sessions to not recuse himself and that effort to stop or slow the Russian investigation turned quickly to Rosenstein. To his credit, realizing his exposure, and maybe in response to Trump's revelation, he removed him self from the news with the appointment of Mueller.
