BREAKING
Labor force participation unchanged at 62.7%. Deplorables said that number was terrible.
I'm watching CNBC. The Deplorables on the panel predicted 210,000 to 270,000 jobs, when they were wrong there were no mea culpas, only more bullshit.

(38,958 posts)The overbuilding of Retail shopping areas, the leveraging of large chains buy those seeking short term gains, changing demographics, changing technology with more and more going online for such things as books, video and music. The Walmartization of the Retail Sector and many other factors.
Stores will continue to open with 2017 seeing almost 4000 doing so, but in many cases those are small Retailers with limited capital and expertise that will likely not weather more than a couple of years.

The economy is strong overall right now though, it was left in great shape by the previous administration. It's going to take years to destroy it, but we've seen these policies destroy the economy before.
