David Wasserman: Trumps upset was powered by white voters without college degrees. The problem for Republicans? Voters without college degrees have a dismal track record of voting in off-year elections. This is similar to the problem Obama had: His base of young and non-white voters also had a terrible history of showing up in off years. That didnt change after he took office, and it cost Democrats dearly in 2010 and 2014.
Simply put, 2018 is on track to be the Year of the Angry White College Graduate. Id estimate the college-educated share of the electorate will be around 43 or 44 percent next year, up from 39 percent in 2016. Thats dreadful news for Republicans: These voters have indicated the highest intensity of opposition to Trump in polls, and weve already seen them power Democrats to victory in Virginia and Alabama.

(99,714 posts)Trump can have the rural areas where approximately seventeen percent of Americans live. I know there are good people there but many are at war with modernity.

(11,885 posts)It'll be the only way they'll win, and with the gop purging voter rolls, and obstructing voters from voting, and threats, they're hoping they can once again have enough to sway the election. The Republican Party has become very corrupt, and anti-American.

(1,474 posts)The only good thing trump has done is to show Americans how important it is to participate in democracy. Lots of Democrats running for office (especially women!) and lots of people motivated to vote. Like Japan did at Pearl Harbor, trump has woke the sleeping giant.
Vote Americans Vote! Our democracy depends on us voting!
