Meghan Markle and Prince Harry want the Obamas at wedding

.

Great! This will show the remaining RW Brits what a fucking tool our president is.

Let's see if the PM is a puppet and cowars to Trump or if she is an independent leader.

“Harry has made it clear he wants the Obamas at the wedding, so it’s causing a lot of nervousness,” a senior British government source told The Sun. “Trump could react very badly if the Obamas get to a royal wedding before he has had a chance to meet the queen.”

The tabloid’s report published on Tuesday states that there are deep fears among senior foreign office officials that a snub of Trump, whom the prince and Markle dislike, could make it impossible for Prime Minister Theresa May to connect with the polarizing president.

“Conversations are ongoing about and ministers will eventually have to decide. If the (prime minister) lays down the law, Harry will just have to suck it up,” the source told The Sun.

Weddings are not state affairs, like coronations or royal funerals. State protocol doesn't apply.

to be more selective - AND invite or not invite who they wanted. After all, Prince Harry is much farther down in the line of succession. It probably would make more of a difference if it were Will and Kate. There would have been stricter protocols for them regarding invitations to other heads of state and alleged-but-still-illegitimate “heads of state” (like trump).

If it were me, I wouldn’t want those wretched assholes sullying MY special day, either. Besides, trump would want all the attention.

They opted to include more members of charities rather than heads of state.

So if they didn't have to fulfill the obligation, Harry and Meghan have no problem.

This has all been RW pot-stirring by Murdoch to create a 'crisis'.

Since this engagement has been groundbreaking in other ways, I'd love it if the Queen would extend the invitation to her friends the Obamas - not that Harry won't proceed with his plan.

And on top of it, I'm sure Harry would secretly love to deck the Dotard for his gross comments about Princess Diana.

knows the protocol. This is a state event, and the British have rules for how these things are done.

Yes, the Obamas are private citizens and Harry's personal friends. But trump is a head of state, even if he is widely hated. I think 45 might be better off sending Pence, if his ego will allow it. That is one of the things Vice Presidents do.

William's wedding was because he's the future king but Harry, for all intents and purposes is a private citizen.

That's why (unlike William) Harry doesn't have to invite heads of states etc.

it would be held in St Paul's or Westminster Abbey and many heads of states would be invited. This will be a smaller wedding then what Prince Charles and Prince William had. The couple should be able to invite whom they want. The Obamas are now private citizens and friends of the Groom. The solution is to not invite any heads of states of any countries. If Trump doesn't like it - tough shit. You can't on the one hand constantly act like the Ugly American and then on the other hand get mad when you don't get invitations to the grownups table.

The majority of Brits don't want Trump visiting their country and the bride and groom don't need anry protests in the streets against Trump ruining their wedding day.

the cuff which will hurt the focus on a sacred day. Protesters would be a terrible distraction. No one should be allowed even a chance to ruin it, and we know we can’t count on trump to act appropriately, anywhere, no matter how important the occasion. He tries to make everything about him and I don’t think he deserves to be given a chance of of doing his usual ego trip. The couple should invite who they want and not invite people they don’t like.

It's ridiculous to say they can't attend when they actually have a PERSONAL relationship with Harry - and pretty much the rest of the Royals, too. It is an existing relationship that now has zero to do with politics and/or governments. I truly believe they all genuinely like each other.

This is exactly how trump* got to be such a bloated ball of fetid ego - people pandering and catering to his temperment and very damaged self-esteem.
