Proof BBC is a propaganda tool.
ttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11990491

I'm curious if any DU'ers can find Holbrook's last words in this article.
Considering most of the article is about Karzai and Afghanistan it
would only make sense they include his last words but one of the worlds
leading news agencies chooses to leave them out. That speaks volumes
about the BBC. They are complicit in keeping the wars going. No wonder
people were dubious of their "bad" reporting on bldg 7 on Sept.11, 2001.

3. Maybe the BBC producers/editors do not believe that those
were his last words.

7. Evidently they began dismantling the BBC decades ago ....
big job -- had vast worldwide coverage --

no an expert on all that happened with them but certainly questionable now --

10. Its not a matter of dismantling -
Its a matter of who else outside of the UK wants to buy their stuff.

Contrary to the belief of some here on occasions its not UK Government owned - its simply funded via licence fees here in the UK. Its a Public Corporation which operates under a Royal Charter.

11. BBC was described as being "dismantled" .... based on their many
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 03:05 PM by defendandprotect
outposts for information and news gathering --

evidently an abundance of those have been closed in last decade and more --

Therefore, the sources for their news have been limited --

and presumably the confirming sources for the news they receive.

Understand the "license" -- but we actually had public funding of PBS/NPR

public stations until the right wing simply cut into the public funding so

severely -- usually by pushing "indecency" issues -- and also put a

PRIVATE corporation in charge of them!!

As long as there are dishonest men among us -- there will be corruption of truth --

i.e., news which serves the interests of the powerful.

8. why does that make them a propaganda outlet?
Holbrooke's last words are dramatic but hardly can be used as a guide to policy.

The BBC prefers facts. You prefer drama. That's on you.

12. You're right ... but you're describing "lesser of evils" in a downward spiral ... !!!
BBC is not what it once was -- that's clear --

and is something that everyone should understand.

Destruction of sources which have tried to deliver truth to the public.

A little bit of propaganda is like being a little bit pregnant, perhaps?

13. "A little bit of propaganda is like being a little bit pregnant, perhaps?"
LOL. Yeah, that is a good point. A little propaganda goes a long way unfortunately.
