The "stay away" line.
Does anyone remember in past administrations the line "They asked him to stay away" used so frequently? How is this possible? I mean, did Bush get regular memos to stay away from things big and small? When there were issues or items that needed the president, I don't remember Clinton being asked to stay away.

1. Are you suggesting that "stay away" it is an empty excuse?

2. No, just puzzled over it's almost universal use.
Not saying that it's prudent or not, but it's becoming quite common in the response to an issue or situation.

3. If you have a bad situation, one where police are needed
is it better they help locally - or get pulled of to protect the President?

Everyone will focus on the "President is Coming!" when they should focus on the task at hand.

Unless the President is an expert on the local issue - he/she should stay away and coordinate efforts at the federal level to help.

4. They saw what Obama's late decision to become a champion of health care reform did for that movement
So, it makes sense that various movements and locally based efforts would implore him to keep his distance.

5. You mean how he secretly killed 'Medicare for all' as his last murderous act?
