The daily Dagens Næringsliv reports that the cables have been leaked to Aftenposten without WikiLeaks’/Assange’s approval.


Thus, Aftenposten is not bound by the agreement that covers publication by The Guardian, Le Monde, El Pais, the New York Times and Der Spiegel. Those papers have signed a confidentiality agreement, under which they may only publicize cables when WikiLeaks has explicitly agreed to the publication.
