I admire Gaddafi
Edited on Tue Mar-01-11 10:44 AM by salinen
That powder blue jacket, emblazoned with gold braid, encrusted with fake medallions, and topped off with those awesome shades. Now, that's how a tin pot, brutal, vicious, corrupt leader should look. At least for this current fashion season.

If Gaddafi were an American, he'd have probably been elected governor of Wisconsin.

2. Chuckle, chuckle. On another note, can you imagine how much
his gold emblazoned threads cost? One of his more colorful outfits would probably feed a family of four for a year.

Love the Wisconsin comment.

3. Before edit times out, the OP should read "What do Walker and Gaddafi have in common?"

4. So why is he only a "Colonel?"
I'd have thought he'd have promoted himself to a "General" by now.

5. Yeah, it seems like the easiest way to get him out of leadership...
would be for a General to just walk in and say, "That's enough now, Colonel. You're being reassigned."

15. Actually, that was smart on his part.
He formally holds no posts whatsoever. He has followers in posts doing his bidding. He never wanted to be military dictator, but rather to neutralize the military and create new institutions loyal to him. He was semi-successful, but in recent years, obviously, there have been serious fissures. One thing that is interesting is that the "pro-Western, reform" faction of his appears to not have defected, while some old guard "revolutionaries" have abandoned him.

9. No. I think it is just characteristic of someone who is a complete psychopath.
He has no grounding in propriety of any kind.

8. It has a certain Michael Jackson appeal.
Not to mention he can spell his name about five ways. How cool is that?

10. As Chris Rock said of one of Jacko's outfits, he looks like Captain Crunch. Same could be said of
Moamar.

12. Very high production values for a murderous, repressive clown.
Just one in a parade of history's super fucked up souped-up jack asses.

Maybe one day America can stop supporting all this crap.

14. I keep envisioning the crazed dictator in the original "In Laws" movie with Alan Arkin
and Peter Falk. "Talk to the hand"! - level of wackiness and dementia....

Anyone else old enough to remember that classic? I always thought that oil-rich dictator in that movie was based on Ghadafi....
