Wu (D-Or) tries the old "erratic behavior, dressing as a tiger, due to prescription drugs" trick

FILE - In this image provided by the Willamette Week newspaper, and taken Oct. 2, 2010 in Portland, Ore, U.S. Rep. David Wu is seen in a tiger costume. The Oregon congressman says that he accepted prescription drugs from a campaign contributor last October, around the time when members of his staff complained of his erratic behavior. On Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, Wu said on ABC's 'Good Morning America' that it was 'unprofessional and inappropriate' for him to send pictures of himself wearing a tiger costume to staff members. Wu said the photos were taken while he was 'joshing around' with his children in October just before Halloween

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- In a one-on-one interview with FOX 12, U.S. Rep. David Wu responded to questions Saturday about his erratic behavior that this month became the focus of national media coverage.

Wu's behavior and the turn of events prior to last November's election led some of his constituents to doubt his ability to lead Oregon's first congressional district.

In the interview, Wu said he had mental health issues, but he wants to keep the specific diagnosis private.

The congressman called it "a challenging time." He cited a "very, very stressful election" and being the primary caregiver for two young children as the sources of those challenges. Wu said he "said some things, and I did some things that I shouldn't have done."

1. What's wrong with a tiger costume?
Now if he posted pictures of the full monty, that would be different.

5. It's not like he wore it on the floor of the house or while campaigning.
Are elected officials not allowed to wear costumes?

6. Actually, a politician in a tiger costume at my door would probably get my attention, maybe my vote!
At least it shows some uniqueness.

14. That was my thought. Certainly there are more embarrasing pictures of politicians in the archives.
So why the hit job on Wu?

9. I suspect he's alcoholic and as many/most, can't go public with it,
may not even be able to go private with it.

Sorry for his kids (as well as his constituents.)

12. Because I read the article
The pic was on Yahoo news pics so I had to check it out. I understand that it was a costume but apparently his staff was worried about him AT THE TIME THE PIC WAS TAKEN and he admits that sending it around to people was not the best idea.
