Emanuel puts 2 former top Daley aides on his transition team

Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel announced Thursday seven Chicago community and business leaders to lead his transition team, including two former top aides to Mayor Richard Daley.

Although many of the names are familiar, Emanuel said he sought to strike a balance between diversity of experience and background.

"This group of individuals is comprised of both experienced hands and people with new energy and new ideas who are in touch with Chicago's neighborhoods," Emanuel said. "I want that blend of somebody that knows their way around and somebody that's not burdened by knowing their way around."

David Mosena, president and CEO of the Museum of Science and Industry, was a Daley troubleshooter who once served as the departing mayor's chief of staff. He is chairman of the McPier Board, which owns and operates McCormick Place and Navy Pier. He also is a former city Aviation Department commissioner and president of the Chicago Transit Authority.

Sarah Pang, an executive at the insurance firm CNA, also is a former Daley aide who co-chaired a panel that studied ways to streamline city government.
