Bill Could Do Away With Teachers' Collective Bargaining
FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- The fight for jobs and the middle class in Tennessee got loud at the state Capitol Wednesday.
"We are here today, all of us, to state unequivocally that they are the obstacle to progress," said Mary Mancini of the Tennessee Citizen Action.
The teachers union in Williamson County is hosting a rally Wednesday evening about a single bill that could do away with collective bargaining for teachers in Tennessee.
But for many, there's another issue at play and a bigger fight ahead.
Hundreds filled a hallway in Legislative Plaza, speaking and shouting out against what many said they perceive as an attack on Tennessee unions.
